Khumo asks students to take advantage of edn facilities

MLA and Advisor NEPED Nagaland, L Khumo asked students to take advantage of the various facilities available because students are in a better position to achieve more with the present day education system as compared with the past.
He was addresing at the Chilliso Students Union (CSU) silver jubilee celebration as chief guest at Chilliso village on December 11.Khumo said that is a remarkable achievement for the union to reach 25 years and it is a matter of pride for the student leader and honour for the pioneers for their tireless efforts in enlightening modern education.
He also called on the DB’s GB’s and village council, chairman and secreraries of 57th Thonoknyu area who presents the ocassion on the state tossing the national anthem of India, ‘Jana Gana’ as this is like the day of vitory and celebration as well as for recouncilation for all of us.
In the National Anthem competition the 1st prize was given to Chillise GB, Mushu, 2nd Prize to Noklak, Head DB, Kai and 3rd prize was given to Chilliso GB, Mongtsou.
He also assured to give Rs 2 lakh and a complete set of CGI sheets to build the office building of CSU and GBs Customary Court at Chilliso village through Khiamniungan Tribal Council president. He also donated Rs 60000 to CSU.
The programme began invoking God’s blessing by Finance & Development Secretary, KBCA, S Samuel. Welcome address was delivered by head GB T Torep while special song was presented by Music Club. Short speech was delivered by KTC president W Chuba and vote of thanks was proposed by deacon Shiangchiu.
BDO, RD Block Thonoknyu, Hijila who graced the evening programme as the guest of honour encouraged the womenfolk to be more sincere and dedicated when raising their child.
“Unless we women folk are literate our society will never grow,” she said and urged to continue to keep up the spirit of hard work and dedication as long as sincerity and hard work is there.
“You will be able to shine in this competitive age and will be able to further keep up the good name of the family and society, taking the example of ADC Tainiu who is one of the most beautiful women among the Khiamniungan,” she added. She also donated a sum of Rs 2000 to CSU and Rs 5000 to the council.
Short speeches wered delivered by vice president KTC, L L Puming, GB, T Mushu and chairman Chiphur, Tujong.
Special song was presented by High School students and PSU. Invocation by pastor Longsingking, Khiongmong and vote thanks was proposed by deacon Sune.
