Khekiye advises students to prepare for future

[dropcap]N[/dropcap]oted columnist and retired bureaucrat, K Khekiye Sema, has urged the students to think out of the box and make decision to prepare themselves to become leaders of tomorrow saying whoever make use of the ability would get ahead in life and prosper.Gracing the 36th general conference of Western Sumi Students’ Union at Khekiho village this morning as speaker, Khekiye said God has created everyone equally but noted that whoever makes best use of the abilities would prosper in life.
In the same manner, he said students should change attitude by thinking of out the box and make a decision today and prepare themselves to become leaders of tomorrow.
Stating that the world is moving much too fast and with the advancement of the world, he said students should focus their attention in maintaining strict discipline and spent more time in their study to learn computer and other advanced subjects in order to achieve success in life.
He has encouraged the students to ground their foundation on God as he said that only through righteousness there is justice, deliverance and prosperity.
The speaker was of the view that student bodies could play a lead role in refining the education system in the village level as he said the basic and primary responsibility lies on them to make an educated society. He challenged the students to lead upfront to clean up the mess in the education institutions and do away with practice of proxy teachers and recruitment of unqualified and insincere teachers.
Greeting the students on the occasion, Isawoto Zhimomi, president of Western Sumi Kukami Hoho, said success is for those who work hard adding that time has now come for them to equip themselves with good education. He encouraged the students to value their tradition and to give importance towards promotion of one’s mother tongue.
Exhorting the gathering, former president of Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu, Zhevihe Z Sumi, also stressed on the need to preserve and promote cultural identity.
Also sharing greetings to the students on Friday evening, Jolly K Awomi, pointed out the contribution of the feminine gender towards the society and called on the girl students to always uphold the moral values and essence of a woman besides attaining good education.
She said the present generation is an age of prosperity and advancement and which can come only through education and hardwork.
More than a thousand student representatives from all the areas under Western Sumi are attending the conference.
