DIMAPUR — Endorsing the ‘demand’ of Eastern Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO), the NSCN/GPRN (Khango) has appealed to the Centre as well as Nagaland government to sincerely address the “genuine issues of the ENPO demand” at the earliest.

A press release on Friday informed that the Naga group had relayed this message during a consultative meeting with the leaders of ENPO held on Sep. 4 at Tobu village in Mon district.

“The NSCN/GPRN wholeheartedly acknowledged the leaders of ENPO and all the other CSOs under eastern Nagaland for their true commitment to bring the best honourable solution for peoples of the areas. The NSCN/GPRN with full commitment endorsed to support the demand of ENPO in all possible ways and stand unitedly (sic) to build the Naga societies socially, economically and politically.

“The NSCN/GPRN appeals to both the Government of India and Government of Nagaland to sincerely address the genuine issues of the ENPO demand at the earliest. At the meantime, the leaders of ENPO resonantly appreciated the supreme sacrifices of the NSCN workers and promise to support in all possible ways and cohesively sailed in one boat till the final solution arrive peacefully”, it stated.

The Naga group was represented by President Lieut. Gen. (Retd.) Khango Konyak, Ato Kilonser Hokato Vusshe, Kilo Kilonser Visheto Yeptho, Council of Kilonser, higher ranking Naga Army officers and secretariat staff. The ENPO delegation included president A Chingmak Chang, general secretary M Honang Konyak, executive members and KU Tobu unit.

Also, the NSCN/GPRN (Khango) appealed to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to focus on development of alternative roadways for monsoon season, especially on Dimapur-Shokhuvi-Kukidolong road and Niuland to Botsa road.

It stated that even as both the roads serve as alternative lifelines during emergency situations, they were still underdeveloped and in below-standard plying condition.
