Dimapur, Jan. 13 (EMN): A three-day 46th general conference of Khaghaboto Area Students’ Union (KASU), which was held in Zukiye village on the theme ‘Envisioning excellence,’ culminated on January 11. The conference was hosted by Zukihe Village Students’ Union (ZVSU).
An update from the union stated that Kahuto Chishi Sumi, convenor of Concerned People of Nagaland, was the speaker of the conference, while Vikato Achumi, president of KTKK, delivered greetings at the inaugural programme. It also informed that Kughato Achumi, president of Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU), was the speaker of the felicitation programme.
PHED minister, Jacob Zhimomi, graced the inaugural session as the special guest, while Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema, president of NPP Nagaland was the guest of honour. KK Sema, retired IAS officer, was the theme speaker.
It also informed that over 700 delegates from 16 out of 17 villages under Khaghaboto area participated in the programme. It stated that the three-day conference witnessed hosts of indigenous games and sports, art and literary competitions besides cultural events. Academic excellence awards were also given to toppers of HSLC and HSSLC examinations and other successful students during the conference.
The union further informed that the 47th general conference would be hosted by Shitoi Village Students’ Union (SVSU).
