KGOF conducts general session, declares new team

DIMAPUR — The Khezhakeno Gazetted Officers’ Forum (KGOF) conducted its general session at the Khezhakeno Village Council Hall on February 10, presided over by Pfukrulhou Koza, Joint Director of Rural Development and president of KGOF.

According to an update, Dr. Joel Koza, Deputy Director of Health and Family Welfare, and Daniel Kevie, Executive Engineer for Roads and Bridges, presented the General Secretary and Financial Secretary reports, respectively. This was followed by the release of the KGOF booklet by Kevekha Kevin Zehol, Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Nagaland.

Speaking at the event, D Lhouchinyi Koza, the Village Council Chairman of Khezhakeno, exhorted the attendees and urged the members to dedicate time to reading the words of God despite their busy schedules, emphasising that they can achieve nothing without divine assistance.

He also expressed gratitude to the KGOF for organising its general session in the village, noting that it provided a valuable opportunity to share their thoughts and interact with all the officers.

Zehol, in his speech, said that it was God who selected them for their roles despite the presence of many equally qualified individuals. He encouraged members to approach their duties with humility and sincerity, aiming to excel in their assigned positions.

He also encouraged members to build friendships with neighbouring villages to foster better understanding and unity. Furthermore, he challenged the members to undertake developmental works for the benefit of the village and to take initiatives to safeguard, promote, and make the historical sites and places of interest more accessible to those people coming to the village.

Earlier in the day, the village gate, constructed by KGOF, was inaugurated by the president, and a dedicatory prayer was offered by Rev. Ngochinyi Koza of KCRC.

The search committee convenor, D Kemvü, during the session also declared and introduced the new executive team for the 2024–26 tenure, according to the report.

The new team will be led by Daniel Kevie, Executive Engineer, Roads and Bridges, as president; Ngopelo Zehol, Assistant Superintendent, Gov. Sectt., as vice president; Vekhrolo Koza, Block Development Officer, Rural Development, as general secretary; Chepeu Koza, Forest Ranger, Forest, Environment, and Climate Change, as joint secretary; Neitelo, Sub Divisional Officer, Public Health Engineering Department, as financial secretary; Vekhrotso Koza, JSO, NC Sectt., as treasurer; Seyievelo Sono, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer, as information and publicity secretary; Veteü Koza, Assistant Director of Tourism and Mary N Koza, Steno Gr-II, NLA Sectt., as women representatives; and Dr. Ngopelo Keviechu, State Medical Officer and Pfutsulo Thasou, Executive Engineer, Water Resources, as representatives to CGOA.
