(EM Images)[/caption] Kohima, July 23 (EMN): Vanguard FC came from behind to snatch a point against United 16 FC 1-1 at the 2nd Kohima Football League played here at the Kohima local ground on Monday. The draw helps Vanguard FC to register their first point in the league matches after playing two match of the tournament.  While United 16 FC also registered a point after losing the first match. In the match, United 16 FC was a better side in the first half and Daveikho the defender broke the deadlock in the 10th minute to take the lead. United team dominated in the midfield area but struggled to connect with the striker to give their goal advantage. Vanguard FC best chance came in the 8th minute but it was the skipper Yhunshalo Kemp who missed the opportunity when the opponent keeper P Angki Konyak managed to divert the ball. Nighato Sumi’s free kick was also punched away by United’s keeper in the 30th minute. However skipper Yhanshalo Kemp came to rescue for Vanguard FC as he converted a spot kick in the 42nd minute after the referee awarded a penalty for a handball inside the area to end the first half with 1-1. In the second half, both teams relied on set pieces but failed to score in a lack lustre second half. United 16 striker Longkhoi should have scored when his teammate latches a through ball into his path but he shot the ball wide of the target in the 54th minute While Nyithong Magh of Vanguard FC wasted a golden opportunity as the keeper Konyak deflected the ball out of the area. Tuesday’s match Khriekesa FC vs New Market FC at 2 pm
