Kohima, Aug. 10: Twenty XI striker, Metol Neikha’s lone goal in the 62nd minute was sufficient to thump their rival New market FC despite playing with a man down at the ongoing Kohima Football League.

In an equally contested match, both teams were playing cautiously with less risk taken but the tempo of the match changed after the halftime after the all important goal was slotted by Metol for Twenty XI in the second half.

New Market had a chance to draw parity when Vizhii Neikha of Twenty XI was sent off for receiving a yellow card for the second time during the match for handling the ball inside the D box in the 88th minute and thereby awarded a penalty kick. But Achamo Shitio of New Market failed to convert the chance in their favour

Medo Yokha, PRO to the Speaker of Nagaland was the match patron for the day.
