Keretsü emerges champion in DYO meet

KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 9

Dzieselatuo Keretsü emerged as the champion of the 1st Dapfhütsumia Open Wrestling Championship organized by the Dapfhütsumia Youth Organisation from November 6-7 at D Khel ground. He walked away with a cash prize of Rs 15,000/- and a Pulsar motorbike.
Menuosetuo Yiese was declared as the second runners up who walked away with Rs 10,000/- while Sedevizo Keretsü and Kevisalie Kire were adjudged as third place and were awarded with a cash prize of Rs 5000/- each.
Earlier during the programme, Zakielatuo Yiese, Convenor Wrestling Committee, DYO said the championship has been organized to promote wrestling wherein some of its members have brought laurels to the community through it. It is also to instill in the minds of the young people the spirit of competition and to introduce the game among the interested youths.The morning programme was chaired by Riilhoulie Kire, treasurer, DYO while Rev Viwelie Khezhie invoked God’s blessings and the oath taking ceremony was led by Pfulikhrie Keretsii.
Twenty nine youth participated in the wrestling championship held today.
