Kejong stresses on unity to strengthen department

Allegorically stating that success has many enemies, Parliamentary Secretary for Horticulture, S Kejong Chang, has urged the department officials to work together in unity in order to achieve the goals and objectives. Acknowledging that unity is strength, Kejong Chang said if all levels of the department unite, no one can break the department.
Kejong Chang said this in his address to the department officials during the felicitation programme held on June 13 in the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Horticulture, which was attended by the officers and staff from the Secretariat, the Directorate and the District Horticulture Officers and their representatives.
In his speech, Kejong Chang has emphatically stressed on unity in order to achieve the envisaged aims and objectives of the department. He has categorically stated that no force could ever break the department as long as the staff unite and work together.
Stressing that he was here to help build and not break the Department, the Parliamentary Secretary has urged the Departmental officials to work together in unity for the providing better services to the people. He has also encouraged the staff to bring forward any problem to his notice so that he could take up the issues with the Government for resolving the problems.
Accepting the shortage of manpower in the Department which has only 480 numbers including the fixed pay employees for the whole State, the Parliamentary Secretary lauded the Department for working hard in serving the people with limited manpower. He has further assured the Department to look into the matter concerning shortage of manpower, since the quantum of work in the Department was enormous and was expected to increase in the coming years given the potential of the State in the Horticulture Sector.
The programme was chaired by Watienla Jamir, Director of Horticulture who also gave the welcome address. Pawan Kumar, Joint Director of Horticulture, has highlighted about the status and activities of the Department.
Short speeches were also delivered by Vechisalu Nukhu, Deputy Secretary to the Government on behalf of the Administrative Department, and Jerry Patton, District Horticulture Officer, Peren, on behalf of the DHOs. The vote of thanks was pronounced by Arun Mech, Joint Director of Horticulture.
