Kejong Chang inaugurates Phek District Horticulture office
Dimapur, June 9 (EMN): Parliamentary Secretary of Horticulture, Kejong Chang inaugurated the Office of the District Horticulture Officer Phek as chief guest.
In his address, Kejong said the establishment of the district office was to provide better service to poor farmers and new technologies would be disseminated at the right time to the right people.
Guest of honour, DC Phek, Kovi Meyase, said the district had a vast potential for growing horticulture crops especially, large cardamom, kiwi, banana and vegetable crops and that Phek district could also be declared as the large cardamom district in the state.
N Amos Ao, Head of Department, Horticulture delivered keynote address and on behalf of the engineering wing, presented the technical report of the office.
Alan Gonmei (IAS), Secretary (Horticulture) welcomed the participants from various departments, institutions and farming community.
Invocation was pronounced by Pastor Phek Town Baptist Church, Thupuchiyi while vote of thanks was proposed by DHO Phek, Moalemba. The programme was coordinated by Shri Senti Longchar (DK), HO Phek.
