Dimapur, Nov. 4 (EMN): The Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) held an emergency meeting regarding the issue of e-procurement notice Invitation for Bids (IFB) issued by the department of Urban Development dated October 18.  The meeting was held at KDCC office at Congress Bhavan in Kohima on November 4, a press statement from the committee informed.

“The meeting reiterated and resolved to stand by its earlier demand for cancellation of the said IFB as it is it in total contravention of the laid down norms for any interested bidder to submit a tender,” read the statement.

The meeting also resolved to take legal course of action if the concerned department fails to cancel the present tender and invite fresh tender “omitting IFB No. 11, wherein the department has asked the bidders to quote the bid as per/above NPWD Schedule of Rate (SOR) 2016” it read.

The KDCC has also extended its appreciation towards the citizens who have come forward to support their stand against corrupt practices in the government departments. It has urged the citizens and civil society “to come forward so that such malpractice within the government departments, which is hampering development and progress, can be rooted out.”

The committee has expressed its “surprise over the silence of the Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers Union and Nagaland Government Registered Class-I Contractors Union for not looking into the concern and welfare of the contractors and tenderers despite the issue being brought to their notice through our earlier statement.”
