Dimapur, November 22: Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) has reacted strongly to the alleged ‘baseless allegations’ labeled by NPF Kohima division press secretary Alo Yakhro on a genuine matter raised by NPCC working president Ayangba Aonok in the interest of the public on the issue of educational qualification of the two top leaders in the State.
While maintaining that Congress is not anxious with the ongoing petty internal differences and enmity within the NPF, KDCC president Kevi Vizo said as a major national political party, the Congress always stood for the interest and welfare of the Naga people in general.
It argued that while Lok Sabha MP, Neiphiu, Rio had expressed his oversight in signing the educational documents, KDCC said chief minister TR Zeliang has neither accepted nor rejected in the public the allegations against his false educational affidavit, even as there are evidences of RTI applications showing his ‘failed status.’
Stating that Congress party wants ‘truth to prevail’ and that law will take its own course, it reaffirmed stand with the working president Ayangba Aonok in questioning the sincerity of the chief minister TR Zeliang in continuing to ‘hoodwink’ the general public by remaining silent.
“As electors, the general public have every right to know the educational qualification of their leader,’ KDCC said.
It reminded NPF Kohima division press secretary, Alo Yakhro that Congress is a national political party and will never extend support to any individual using fake and false educational certificates to gain mileage. It further questioned Alo Yakhro’s disloyalty to the party but favouring individual interest. KDCC appreciated Alo Yakhro for revealing the cracks within the NPF house, which is on the verge collapsing.
