KOHIMA — The Khulazu Basa Students’ Union (KBSU) organised its third literary and cultural event on October 13 and 14 at Government High School (GHS) at Khulazu Basa village, on the theme ‘Promote and enrich culture’.

During the event, students from Government Primary School (GPS) A, GPS B, GHS, and Zanubu Mission School participated in various competitions such as solo, duet, choral, quiz, poem, drawing, prepared speech, and spelling bee, according to a press release.

Vetazo Tetseo, VEC, spoke on the importance of discipline, respect, and obedience on the occasion and encouraged the students to put the teachings of their elders into practice.

Teacher-in-charge of the GHS, Medothi Rhakho, laid emphasis on the importance of education. He remarked that learning should not be limited to textbooks alone, but that one should explore and discover new skills and talents because education is an all-around development.

Verakho Rhakho, education secretary of the Kohima Chakhesang Students’ Union (KCSU), stated that education is a journey that enables a person to make good decisions in life and described education as the ‘third eye of a human being’.
