Karbi Anglong Primary Education department cancels selection list

Diphu, June 9 (EMN): The department of District Primary Education, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) has cancelled the selection of 81 posts of lower primary (LP) teachers after detection of irregularities submitted by some candidates on Tuesday.

The District Primary Education department, KAAC in a notification on May 28 published TET qualified candidates who had been selected for appointment as LP teachers against 81 numbers of sanctioned vacant posts.

Soon after the notification was published, a TET qualified candidate, Onbir Teron of Diphu on May 31 protested against the anomalies on the selection process as some candidates whose names were not there in the TET qualified list were being selected.

Following the protest, there was a social media uproar, with many people condemning the KAAC for such anomalies, the department of District Primary Education issued a fresh notification on June 8.  “In view of last minute detection of irregularities in the documents submitted by some candidates, it is hereby notified to all concerned that the selection lists published on May 28, 2021 for appointment of 81 nos. of LP teachers under the Primary Education Department, KAAC, Diphu, is hereby stand cancelled. A fresh list of selected candidates will be published in due course of time. This has the approval of the authority of the KAAC,” read the order. When Eastern Mirror contacted the district primary education officer, he stated, “Fresh notification has been issued regarding selection of candidates for the LP teacher’s appointment as some irregularities were found in the documents submitted by some candidates during the selection process. The earlier list has been cancelled and fresh lists would be published.”
