Karbi Anglong police seizes drugs worth INR 5 crore

Diphu, Oct. 3 (EMN): In a major haul illegal drugs, Karbi Anglong police recovered a total of 97000 tablets of Yaba from a six-wheeler truck bearing registration number MN-01-7632 during a regular naka checking at Dilai check gate here on Saturday morning at around 8 am.

As per the police information, the contraband drugs were recovered from a secret chamber of the truck, which were neatly packed in 10 packets.

During the search, police recovered a total of 97000 tablets of Yaba, which is worth INR 5 crore approximate at market value.

Police have also arrested two persons identified as Romikanta Singh (36) from Khongjon village under Thoubal district in Manipur and Biken Singh (35) from Ireng Band village under Kakching district in Manipur.

The seizure was made under the supervision of John Das, SDPO of Bokajan, and SI Manujjal Gogoi, In-charge Lahorijan police post.
