Diphu, April 13 (EMN): Karbi Anglong Police on Thursday, during regular checking at Dillai junction along NH-129 recovered five chimpanzees being transported to Guwahati.

According to the police information, the vehicle was coming from Dimapur and headed towards Guwahati. Two persons have been arrested in this connection namely , Md. Hobibur Rahman and Md. Zanab Khan.

It was informed that both are from Sangaiyumpham village, under Thoubal police station of Thoubal district, Manipur.

The  apprehended persons and seized chimpanzees have been handed over to assistant conservator of forest, I/C Manja Range, East Division, Karbi Anglong.
