DIMAPUR — Minister for PWD (R&B), G Kaito Aye, has urged the head of offices to be prepared to respond with various details on the activities undertaken by the respective departments and also highlight their grievances and difficulties faced by the department.

Speaking at the coordination meeting with all the heads of offices along with representatives from GBs’ association, STH, SRSU, SASCA and various other NGOs at Satakha town hall on Wednesday, Aye stated that his main motive was not to put them under the radar but to give back to the citizens by working together in coordination and make Satakha a properly developed sub-division.

Aye expressed hope that all the officers would coordinate and work together for the betterment of the citizens. He also stated that the people of Satakha should be thankful to the government of India and Nagaland for the upcoming highways in close proximity to the sub-division.

He added that developmental activities of various kinds would be possible only if the citizens cooperate by avoiding all the minor and major hindrances as and when required of them, stated a DIPR report.

Later interacting with the student bodies and GBs, the minister expressed concern about the less enrolment of students, which is less than 2000 in 40 schools comprising both government and private in Satakha sub-divisions.

In this regard, he appealed to initiate effective policies to increase the number of enrolments. He cautioned that less enrolment of students could lead to a decline in the number of schools.

He also assured to take up the matter with the higher authority for the development of schools in the sub-division.

Aye also touched upon the issues of basic problems faced by citizens such as water, power etc due to an increase in population and expansion of the sub-division.

He concluded by stating that all those issues should be addressed collectively by the departments, student bodies and NGOs.

The meeting culminated with a fruitful interaction wherein government schools, NGOs, and administration officers spoke on various issues and the need to tackle them.

In conclusion, the ADC of Satakha, MS Thangpong, informed that coordination meetings would be held regularly and urged all concerned to respond positively.
