Diphu, Nov. 6 (EMN): The Karbi Anglong District Mahila Congress Committee (KADMCC) organised a sit in demonstration in-front of Semson Sing Ingti Memorial Park on Nov. 6, Friday to protest against price hike in LPG.
While talking to Eastern Mirror correspondent, Kasang Terangpi, President KADMCC lamented that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government from the centre is not working towards the welfare of the society.
The president said that the common people are facing hardship with the price of food commodities always seen on a rise.
In protest against the BJP government regarding the price hike of cooking gas (LPG), the KADMCC during the protest condemned BJP government for exploiting the poor and the needy people while claiming that the group unanimously organised the sit in demonstration, added Terangpi.
Terangpi also informed that the Congress party of Karbi Anglong will organise a rally at Diphu Town on Nov. 8 following which a memorandum will be submitted regarding demonetisation with street plays against demonetisation.
During the demonstration, the protester shouted slogans like BJP Go back, BJP Down Down.
