[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he members of Kohima Ao Baptist Church (Kohima Ao Baptist Arogo, KABA) on Sunday celebrated the church’s Platinum Jubilee at the NBCC Convention Centre, Kohima.
Calling it a day to thank and praise the Almighty for His choicest blessings showered upon the people during the last 75 years, Board of International Ministries, Development Consultant Rev. Taku Longkumer while delivering his message as the main speaker, urged the believers to embrace the love of Jesus Christ and spread the same to everyone across the nation. Stating that love springs all good things like, giving, humility, forgiving, reconciliation and peace, he said expressing love should best start from oneself.During the celebrations, the KABA paid rich tribute the all the pioneers and recalled with honour their dedication towards the service of the Lord that has made the church rise to spiritual heights. While attributing the utmost gratefulness to the almighty for His grace upon the Church, KABA resolved to continuously walk in faith and bear the light of God’s glory. It re-committed itself to remain and grow stronger as a ‘Mission Church.’ With this vision at the fore, the Church committed to further new mission activities and urged upon each member to become disciples to reach out to the people with the message of bringing a change.
The Church also committed to do something ingenious for everyone on account of the Platinum Jubilee celebration. It resolved to keep an account for the Church, amounting to rupees 5 lakh each year, till the centenary year, that is for the next twenty five more years from now.
A Jubilee Souvenir was also released and dedicated to the believers by former KABA Pastor Rev. T Subong.
Earlier, Rev M. Asangba Longkümer, Senior Pastor KABA, offered a grand welcome and various groups and choir presented songs of jubilation and praise.
The Kohima Ao Baptist Church now has over 8400 baptized members with about 3400 families.
