DIPHU — The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang called upon the Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) to be united under one organisation to work for the betterment of society.

The CEM was attending the open session of the third day of the 50th annual general conference of KSA-Inglongpho) at Khorsing Terang Jutang Aklam, Dillai.

CEM said, ‘The KSA should not incline to any political party. They should be neutral. KSA should keep check and balance to point out the mistakes of what the government is doing.’

‘I urge all factions of KSA to come together and be united under one organisation. If the KSA is one, it will be stronger,’ he said.

Ronghang said the habit of blaming others and pointing out others’ mistakes should stop as Karbis should understand others, share what he/she knows and work together.

On the continuous effort by KANCHASDCOM, KSA and Karbi So-arlo Amei (KARSA) on autonomous state demand the CEM said, ‘Led by Ajit Timung the KANCHASDCOM, KSA and KARSA have not stopped demanding autonomous state under article 244(A) of the Indian constitution. Timung is one of the leaders who have sacrificed for autonomous state demand. He is not a political leader nor interested in contesting elections. He is dedicated only for autonomous state.

‘But there are some people who are blaming them. Instead of making fun of them, people should instead support them for the cause of autonomous state movement,’ he added.
