“During the inspection, the shopkeepers and businessmen sought a positive response and gave their assurance that they will prepare their trading license to continue with their business. The businessmen and shopkeepers have requested us to make the process easy for availing trading licenses. We also understand their problem as people from Chowkihola coming to Diphu is an expense and we will try to make it more convenient to them,” Terang said.

Terang further said, ‘If you want to do business you should have a trading license and pay tax to the KAAC. Initially, as it is offline, there will be some difficulty, but later it will be online and things will be easier as people will not need to come to Diphu physically. Trading license mela will be organised to distribute trading licenses.’

The inspection drive will be conducted in areas whether it is a town area or in villages where there are shops and business establishments, Terang said.

A social worker of Chowkihola, Jiren Engti requested the Taxation officials to make the process easier to avail trading license, as it takes a long time for getting a domicile certificate from the ARO office and after submitting the necessary documents to the Taxation department, it also takes time. The NOC from the concerned SGB or local MAC should be accepted to make the process easier, he stated.
