KAAC meets Union Civil Aviation minister at New Delhi

Diphu, July 26 (EMN):  Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Chief Executive Member (CEM), Tuliram Ronghang on Tuesday met Jyotiradiyta M Scindia, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, at New Delhi and submitted a memorandum for early construction of greenfield airport in Karbi Anglong.

It stated that a memorandum of Settlement (MoS) was signed on September 4, 2021 between the Govt. of India, Govt. of Assam and six-armed groups from Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong in New Delhi in presence of Amit Shah, Union Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of Cooperation.

“It may be mentioned that as per Clause 5.1 (Annexure II), Govt. of India shall establish the project ‘construction of Greenfield Airport’ in Karbi Anglong. For the construction of the authority of KAAC has allotted 1016.73 Hectares of land at Langkaijan and has submitted the project concept paper (PCP) to Govt. of Assam on 18.04.2022,” it read. 

CEM Tuliram Ronghang in his Facebook account wrote: “Privileged to meet Shri Jyotiraditya M Scindia, Hon’ble Minister of Civil Aviation, Govt of India in New Delhi today. In following up on the MOS Agreement 2021, I gave him a memorandum to take initiative for the early establishment of ‘Construction of Greenfield Airport’ in Karbi Anglong at Diphu”.

CEM was accompanied by Member of Parliament  (MP) Horensing Bey, KAAC, EM, Lunsing Teron, MAC Avijit Kro,  and Headsing Rongphar.
