KAAC chief executive member promises big for Karbi Anglong
DIPHU — Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Tuliram Ronghang on Friday said that development works carried out by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in visible in the ground.
He was addressing Vikash Yatra held at the Government Boys Hr. Sec. School playground in Karbi Anglong.
‘Team Karbi Anglong visited Borpung-Tarapung along with DC-SP and others to know the grievances of the people. We spoke to the people right there and promised them that their grievances would be looked into. They requested building of a road which will cost INR 197 crore although the budget of KAAC is only INR 400 crore. But after discussing with MLA Numal Momin, member of Autonomous Council Pabitra Rongpi and the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, we have already called a tender,’ he told the gathering.
The roads crisscrossing Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong worth hundreds of crores of rupees is under process as promised, he added.
Earlier in the day, he laid the foundation stones for various development schemes including Eklavya Model Residential School building in Diphu, water distribution channel at Jirimukam under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF), Common Service Centre at Bokajan and others.
He also inaugurated the Weavers Extension Service Unit at Bakalia and distributed two ambulances to Dolamara Tea Garden and Bogijan Tea Garden.
The programme was attended by MLAs Rupsing Teron and Darsing Ronghang; Deputy Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly, Dr. Numal Momin and others.
