Diphu, July 27 (EMN): The Students and Youth for Justice (SYJ) has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) with the Guahati High Court on misuse of funds meant for welfare schemes by the various departments of Karbi Anglong.
The PIL has been filed on department of Irrigation, Soil conservation and PWD and construction of IAY houses and Karbi Anglong Sports Association (KASA) Sports Complex and illegal appointment and forest products in Karbi Anglong.
The SYC's statement mentioned that there is no good condition of PWD roads, illegal appointment and illegal transaction of forest wealth like timber, bamboo, white clay, sand, coal etc. going against the chief secretary's order.
Still 11890 IAY houses are yet to be completed while the ongoing construction of sports complex at KASA ground are not being followed as per the guideline of NITI Aayog and failure to implement properly the IWMP, Prime Minister Krishi Sanchaya Yojana by the department of Soil conservation.
Also, an FIR is said to have been lodged against PWD, Borpathar Road Division, Engineer, Ajit Dr. Das and PWD, Diphu Roads Division, Engineer, Jowel Timung for unsatisfactory work by the department, the PIL added.
