Diphu, Sep. 11 (EMN): Karbi Anglong police on Saturday night arrested two gold smugglers during a Naka check at Lahorijan after intercepting a night super bus coming from Manipur.
On being searched, a total 14 gold bars weighing a total of 2,323.81 gram (2. 323 kg) was recovered, police informed.
The arrested persons were identified as Md Mohim (24) and Md Masharudin (41), both from Thoubal district, Manipur.
The gold bars were seized under the supervision of IC Lahorijan PP SI Deba Protim Konwar along with O/C Dillai PS SI Lutfur Rahman, PP Staff and C 20 CRPF personnel.
