Dimapur, Nov. 3 (EMN): The government authorities have issued a notice stating the various procedures to filing affidavits before the anti-corruption ombudsman Lokayukta. The government publicity agency the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) gave updates informing about the procedures. The department of Justice & Law has notified that affidavits in the Lokayukta have to be filed in the same way documents are filed for proceedings before the high court and the Supreme Court, the updates stated. According to the IPR, the departments are not acquainted with the procedures to be followed in matters pending and filed before the Lokayukta, particularly on account of absence of rules to be framed by the state government in consultation with the Lokayukta. For this, they do not refer the matter to the department of Justice & Law for legal advice and vetting, the IPR stated. ‘Therefore, all such proceedings where the Lokayukta organisation issues notice to the government departments, the department in concern has to refer the files to the secretary for Justice & Law, Nagaland, for legal advice and vetting before it is filed in the Lokayukta,’ the IPR stated.
