Judith is Miss Peren 2013

[dropcap]“A[/dropcap] beautiful woman is one whose heart is filled with love, care and sympathy for others,” said Miss Judith who was crowned Miss Peren 2013 at 9th Miss Peren Beauty Pageant on November 15 evening. The 9th Miss Peren, organised by the Peren District Beauty and Aesthetic Society (PDBAS), was held at Peren local ground. The 21-year-old beauty aspires to be an IPS officer and wishes to change the mentality of the people in regard to certain negative attitudes which she feels is hampering the growth of the society.
Miss Ireuyile and Miss Ibagwangle were declared 1st and 2nd runner-up respectively.
Judith also won Miss Beautiful Hair title, Keyicile Miss Beautiful Skin, Izihungle Miss Photogenic, Ibagwangle Miss Perfect 10 and Rebecca Miss Congeniality.
Besides the main event, the programme included varied cultural performances by local artistes.
With a view to reminding the people about their roots, the show opened with a song presentation by a group of youngsters using various indigenous musical instruments.
Altogether 13 contestants took part in the show braving the winter chill in the open air stage.
Manager of IDBI bank, Kohima Ping Levis Chawang, who was the chief guest, encouraged the participants and said beauty is the greatest asset given by God. He also advised them to brave the world of fierce competition. He also assured to provide any sort of assistance in future specially to PDBAS and its partakers.
Nungshimenla of Nagaland Beauty and Aesthetic Society, Rainbow Zeliang, Ajungba Imchen and Smita Sarangi, ADC were the judges of the evening.
The contestants also got the rare chance of showcasing the creations of a famed designer Bangdwa Ilunglung, whose works are inspired by the Galaxy and the idea of a greener, cleaner world. The eye-catching apparels made of plastics, newspapers and recycled papers were the talk of the district. Reguigongbe, finalist of Nagas Got Talent2 danced and popped his way into the hearts of everyone and Bynthu Newmai from Kids for Fame5 crooned away the cold with “He raised me up”.
Meanwhile, the organisers have thanked all the contestants, well wishers and all those who supported them morally, spiritually and financially during the event.
