Diphu, August 12 (EMN): The district judiciary court building was formally being inaugurated by Chief Justice of Guahati High Court Justice Ajit Singh here on Saturday. The court building is located at Agriculture colony, near Police Reserve, Diphu. Few days ago, the judiciary was separated from the executive in the hills district of Dima Hasao, today it is Karbi Anglong’s turn to have a separate district judiciary grievance system by the public through a session judge.
Inaugurating the judicial court building, Chief Justice said “Today is yet another day when the history of Assam judiciary is going to see the sun rising in the Karbi Anglong district”. “I am proud to announce that a few days ago judiciary was separated from Executive in Dima Hasao and today it is going to happen in Karbi Anglong too”. With today’s development, two out of three hills districts of Assam shall be having independent judiciary and we are planning to establish the same in West Karbi Anglong also” he added.It may be mentioned here that both judiciary and executive have been placed together in the office of Deputy Commissioner, Karbi Anglong. There were no separation between judiciary and executive and the DC and Magistrates acts as both district administrators and also take up judicial decisions Justice.
Till date, the disputes were adjudicated by the administrators, who also take judicial dedications. He said by setting up a separate and independent judiciary should be ensured that justice reaches to every poor and needy people. Appealing people to come forward to the judiciary the Chief Justice said “Today we are inaugurating a court having necessary infrastructure which is capable of dispensing justice at the threshold of every household”.
He further added “I must fervently request the common mass to have faith in the judiciary system so that the judiciary could deliver the best for the benefit of the poor litigants”. “I desire that the common mass must come forward to the judiciary with their grievances openly and without any kind of thread, fear or suspicious, so that their rights are protected and preserved to the fullest.”
Portfolio Judge, Karbi Anglong Alfaz Ali said in his speech “In a democracy to rule the nation there are three important pillars Legislative, Executive and Judiciary”. He said with a separate and independent judiciary people will get their grievances heard. Judge Incharge, Administrative department, Guahati High Court Hrishikesh Roy said the long awaited demand of the people of Karbi Anglong has been fulfilled today. He said it was during Dr. Jayanta Rongpi when MP that he persuaded for having a separate judicial court, now after 26 years it is being fulfilled.
Deputy Commissioner, Karbi Anglong Adil Khan said it will be a new chapter in the history of Karbi Anglong that the judiciary in Karbi Anglong will have its new beginning. It will be able to provide speedy remedial to the grievances addressed by the public. District & Sessions Judge Karbi Anglong Amiruddin Ahmed; District & Sessions Judge, Nagaon Rita Kar; S.P Karbi Anglong Dr. G.V. Siva Prasad, former MP Dr. Jayanta Rongpi; former MLA Holiram Terang and judges from Nagaon and Golaghat were present during the inauguration programme.
