Dimapur, Nov. 16 (EMN): The Luzheto Village Baptist Church under Kuhuboto is celebrating its golden jubilee with a difference by building a Jubilee park.
The Jubilee park and monolith were inaugurated by Zhaleo Rio, Advisor to Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs, on November 16, informed an update received here.
Extending his greetings to the people and lauding the “fascinating preparations”, Zhaleo called upon the people to thank God as “jubilee is a time of thanksgiving”. He added the monolith and park will be testimony of the Jubilee, besides expressing hope that the legacy of benevolence will continue to favour the village.
He urged everyone to introspect during the celebration, saying that “jubilee is a time to forgive and to restore or reconcile beginning with oneself”. He appealed to the people to uphold the “good Samaritans” tradition and continue to receive blessings as seen from their horticultural crops in the village.
The advisor also urged them to plant more fruit crops which will be enable the villagers to sustain economically. He went on to advise everyone to strictly follow all necessary protocols so that the pandemic is contained ‘right from the local level’.
The inaugural ceremony of the Jubilee park was chaired by Anita Pukhavi Yepthomi while Kanili Zhimomi pronounced the invocation and Khekiye Hekiye delivered the welcome address.
While thanking Zhaleo Rio for repairing the village road and also the village gate, head GB, Toka Kavito requested him to adopt the village for all-round development, especially in horticulture sector.
