Dimapur — Japukong Senso Senden (JSS), while supporting the appeal made by the Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC), has urged the state government to take up the foothill road project on priority without further delay as resolved during the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

A JSS press release issued by its president, Imdongtangba, and the general secretary, Toshisangba, lamented that Nagaland still lacks to have its own foothill road even after 50 years of statehood thereby resulting in untold hardships to the rural people especially those living in the border areas.

Mentioning that many people in rural areas have started to own tea garden and cultivate areca nut, sandal wood, coffee, cardamom, king chilly and other agriculture and horticulture crops, the organisation felt that the foothill road would definitely generate revenue and boost the economy of the state.

Stating that the road would benefit the people in many ways, the organisation fervently appealed to the government to take up the project on priority.
