Secondary School, Dimapur.[/caption] Dimapur, June 21 (EMN): For Little Star Hr. Secondary School (LSHSS), Dimapur, charity begins at school. The institution has been observing Charity Week for the last four years under the initiative of its Principal Christina Neikhrienuo, and this year, it is being observed from June 17 to 22nd. The school observed its 5th Charity Week by distributing food and stationary items to more than 1000 students of the Assisi Evening School and Integrated School – the institutions that cater to children from impoverished and marginalised families. The items were donated by the management, parents, teachers, staff and students of Little Star Hr. Sec. School, informed an update from Nini Sekhose, Chairman of the school. “As a result of this initiative, the students of Little Star Hr. Secondary School have learned to count their blessing and also be a blessing to others (who are) less fortunate than them. They are growing up to be caring members of the society,” read the statement. Supervisor of LSHSS Imnajungla led the short introductory service while Sister Benisha, Headmistress of Assisi Evening School, gave the welcome address. Two students of LSHSS -- Simon Mech and Sungjemnola – also shared their experiences of Charity Week activities and how it had impacted their lives. Sister Benisha said that “it was the first time in the history of the school where such magnanimity was shown to the school and students.” The Pre Schoolers of LSHSS, Star Kids, gave away the items -- food, toiletries, refreshment and stationary -- to their peers at Assisi.
