DIMAPUR — A cultural show marked the parents’ day celebration of Jo Foundation Inclusive School at the State Academy Hall Kohima on Friday, earning the praises of Theja Meru, Chairman of Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA), who attended the event.

Meru lauded the school for the focus on imparting essential values and the students for their exceptional performance in the cultural show, saying that it brought back his cherished memories.

‘He emphasised the significance of appreciating individual differences, highlighting that each child under the school’s care possesses unique skills and that it is through these differences that the true beauty of humanity shines and underscored the need to recognise and celebrate these distinctive qualities,’ said an update from DIPR.

He said the children are no less than other citizens in society and should be treated with the utmost respect.

Lauding the work carried out by Jo Foundation School and other inclusive schools in Kohima, Meru expressed hope that more such institutions will be set up, providing children with the space to flourish and grow in every possible way.

He also thanked the parents and acknowledged their decision to send their children to an inclusive school, saying that it is a powerful testament to their support for inclusivity and diversity in the educational experience.

The programme featured a musical presentation by Jo Foundation students, showcasing “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat”.
