JUBILEE Memorial Higher Secondary School emerged as the winner of the 6th Inter-school Beat contest after a battle with various schools bands of Mokokchung, they were accompany by the Model Higher Secondary School as the runners-up.
The event was organized by the Students Welfare Society Alumni of Hill View Higher Secondary School Mokokchung at Town Hall, Mokokchung on August 19 evening.
The event which entered its 6th edition witnessed an enthusiastic participation from various schools, even females artist among the school rock bands.
The Budding musicians competed for the top high school band of the year by performing their electrifying originals and cover songs, displaying their well tap music skills. Melody was ripe in the air and young hearts could be seen swaying to soulful beats.
The toughness of the competition gave the three judges: Arsashi Ozukum, a well-known vocalist and composer, the proprietors of Mountains Beats Music School Meyalemba (Music Teacher) and Jonathan (Guitarist) a hard call to declare the champions of 2016.
Nonetheless, the young hearts (high school students) also got every inch of music from guest bands like the first Inter-school Beat contestant-Tune up Channel, winner of 5th Inter-school Beat contest 2016-Fore, Tiaz Lemtur and Beyond Sunday.
The event was graced by Temjen Imna Along Longkumer, State BJP Executive Member Nagaland as the chief guest.
The winner of the 6th Inter-school Beat contest 2016 pocketed a cash amount of rupees 15,000 along with trophy and certificates while the runner-up folder a cash amount of rupees 10000 along with certificates. The participating bands were also conferee with certificates.
The individual’s prizes were: Best Vocalist-Canaan Hr. Sec. School, Best Guitarist- Jubilee Memorial Hr. Sec. School, Best Bassist-Lady Bird School, Best Drummer- Jubilee Memorial Hr. Sec. School and Best Originality- Hill View Hr. Sec. School.
