JD (U) to contest state elections

Dimapur, Jan. 25 (EMN): Janata Dal (United) has claimed to have received 12 applications from various districts including some prominent politicians, former ministers and MLAs for the ensuing state assembly elections.
A press release issued by the convenor of Nagaland JD (U) NSN Lotha stated that the applicants were also from former activists of civil organisations including students’ bodies.
It added that JD (U) is determined to contest only in conducive and winnable constituencies. It also stated that the party would not hesitate to filter the ticket aspirants based only on commitments to the party ideologies and manifestos on a long term principles.
Further, as published earlier from the office of the JD (U) secretary general that although JD (U) is still a part of Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN), yet the state delegation along with the national president would take a final call on January 27 in Delhi.
