Dimapur, July 12 (EMN): One-time ally JD (U) has decided to file a lawsuit against NDPP for what it stated was the latter’s failure to respond to a letter seeking clarification on its ‘public claims of merger between the JD (U) and the NDPP’ in Nagaland. A press release from coordinator (publicity and programme) of the JD (U), Mohammad Nisar on Friday stated that it had written the letter seeking clarification from the NDPP on June 26. “It is pertinent to say that there is a total confusion within the top ranks of NDPP. While the president (of) NDPP, over a telephonic talk, has stated that there was a little mistake in the press statement of the NDPP, the secretary general of the NDPP, on the other hand, over WhatsApp reply to the general secretary, JDU, has stated that there is no merger documents with them (NDPP),” read the press release. It stated that the confusion of the NDPP is a mockery of democracy. “It exposes the deliberate and unethical action of the NDPP and their total disregard to an established principle in the functioning of a recognised political party. The NDPP has intentionally, exhibited their selfish poaching tactics without any reservation and respect to the well-being of other political parties.” It informed that a legal notice would be issued to the NDPP “within the shortest time.”
