JD(U) names Kitoho Rotokha for Ghaspani-II seat
NSN Senchumo Lotha to contest from 37 Tyui
President of Janata Dal (United) Nagaland, NSN Senchumo Lotha on Sunday declared Kitoho S Rotokha as its candidate to contest the upcoming state Assembly election from 5 Ghaspani-II A/C, in the presence of central JD(U) party leaders and supporters.
Speaking at the candidature declaration programme at Town Hall in Dimapur, Rotokha acknowledged the central leadership including Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar for placing their confidence in him, as well as the party workers for supporting him throughout his political career.
Rotokha conveyed that he has disseminated the good governance and strong secular credentials of Nitish Kumar-led JD(U) to the grassroots in the state, adding that his main agenda to contest in the 5 Ghaspani-II A/C was empower the youth and women. He said he been engaged with Black Belt Private Limited that provides securities to multinational companies, to outsource educated and uneducated youths, impart trainings and provide job placement.
‘With or without winning the election’, he has started his job of empowering the youths, Rotokha said.
National President of JD(U) and Member of Parliament, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, said that during the 2018 election, the BJP party had assured the people of Nagaland “election for solution”.
After five years, the people of Nagaland feel betrayed by the BJP, Singh said, adding that state government might have taken serious effort to solve the Naga problem but the Central government has to take a decision.
Singh stated that the Framework Agreement was signed in the 2015 in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi but ‘nothing has happened’.
Highlighting the achievement Nitesh Kumar, Singh said he has fulfilled the commitment made to the people of Bihar during the election, and therefore the JD(U) party would also keep its commitment to people of Nagaland.
Speaking to journalists after the programme, Singh also informed that President of JD(U) Nagaland, NSN Senchumo Lotha is the intending candidate from 37 Tyui A/C Wokha.
Singh added that the JD(U) party will not be part of BJP government, adding that it will contest the election with “only winnable candidates”.
General Secretary of JD(U) and Northeast in-charge, Afaque Ahmed Khan, said that Assembly election is between “doers and slogan givers”, reiterating that for the last five years, “there is no name and indication of solution”.
Meanwhile, short speeches were also delivered by MP of Rajya Sabha, Aneel Hegde; Cabinet Minister of Bihar, Sanjay Kumar Jha; party workers and supporters of 5 Ghaspani-II A/C.
