Dimapur, Oct. 2 (EMN): The Joint Committee on Prevention of Illegal Immigrants (JCPI) has said that it will protest against the controversial Citizenship (amendment) Bill, 2016 by marching from Badminton Stadium, Raj Bhavan Road, Kohima to the official residence of Nagaland Chief Minister on Thursday morning.

A statement from JCPI said it has organised the protest march as per the decision of the 1st North East Forum for Indigenous People (NEFIP) Central Executive Council meeting held at Kohima.

Stating that it is imperative for the indigenous people of the region to have a common front representing the entire Northeast region to voice their collective concern, the committee has sought the support of the public.

The committee reiterated that it strongly opposed the proposed CAB in its present form.
