Dimapur, May 6 (EMN): The Japfüphiki Baptist Theological Fellowship (JBTF) held its 23rd biennial conference under the theme “Testify His Word” at Jakhama Baptist Church on May 4 and 5th.

The conference began with a presentation from Saphrül Pucho, Director CRMT (ABCC), on the topic “Church and Development” on May 4. President of the JBTF Rokovilie Zashümo then led the congregation to further discussions, informed a press release received on Monday.

Pastor of Mitelephe Baptist Church (and the new President JBTF) Medosel Naleo led the Bible study during the conference, while Khriekethozo Pucho and his friends from Kidima Baptist Fellowship led the congregation in “praise and worship through contemporary songs and hymns.”

In the evening session, Youth Co-Ordinator of NBCC Khrievino Sahu spoke on the topic “Emotionalism and Spirituality.” She told the gathering that “our emotions should arise from our knowledge of God.”

On May and final day of the conference, Rev. Mekhale Yhoshü, senior pastor Kigwema Baptist Church, spoke on the topic “Supremacy of the Scripture.” He emphasised on the divine inspiration of the Bible and the indispensability of scripture for human existence. He also “highlighted some standout features of scriptures — double-edged sword, hammer, seed, mirror, fire, lamp, and food, and ended on the importance of preaching and teaching and listening of the Word.”

Rev. Zapovil Sophie, senior pastor Jakhama Baptist Church, prayed for the new office bearers for the tenure of 2019–21.
