Dimapur, Nov. 29 (EMN): Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism C Apok Jamir said the present Naga society is in a state of disarray. However, he said one must take it as a driving force to bring about change and for that courage and aim is eminent.
He was addressing the Kohima Law College 37th annual parting social cum magazine release on Nov. 28 at the State Academy Hall, Kohima as chief guest.
Congratulated the outgoing students, Jamir challenged the students to have a clear aim and objective to bring change in the society.
The chief guest, who is also a law graduate, said studying law and obtaining a degree is not enough. Practicing law is a different challenge and in the course of practice, one must have the courage to do what is right and stand for justice, he said.
Encouraging the students, Jamir said “there will be hurdles and obstacles but one must not be afraid to confront them. Take every obstacle that comes your way, and they will strengthen you. Be courageous, have a clear aim and stand for what is right and fight for a better tomorrow.”
The chief guest also released the college annual magazine.
Principal of the college, Visevonuo Pienyu, encouraged and exhorted the outgoing students and also highlighted the success and laurels that the college had produced.
Speaking on behalf of the graduating students, Aleno Sale expressed gratitude and appreciation to the college and the faculty.
President KLCSU, Sepikyu J Sangtam also addressed to the graduating students.
The programme was organised by the Kohima Law College Students’ Union supervised by Asst. Professor Kezhokoto Savi who is the student’s welfare in-charge.
