Jamir proposes measures for overall growth of SSP

  • DIMAPUR — Nagaland’s lone Lok Sabha MP, S Supongmeren Jamir, on Friday proposed several initiatives to enhance the institution’s academic and infrastructural growth of the Sainik School in Punglwa (SSP) under Peren district.

  • Jamir made the propositions during the 31st local board of administration (LBA) meeting of Sainik School, Punglwa, held at the school campus. The meeting, attended by all members and the chairperson, focused on key initiatives to enhance the institution’s academic and infrastructural growth, stated an update from NPCC communication department.

  • It stated that Jamir has congratulated the school administration, faculty and students for achieving 100% results in the Class 10 and 12 CBSE board examinations. He also lauded the collective efforts of the school community in maintaining exemplary academic standards and reinforcing the school’s reputation as a premier institution in the region.

  • Highlighting the importance of holistic development and cross-learning opportunities, the MP proposed the promotion of exposure trips for students from schools across Nagaland’s districts to visit Sainik School, Punglwa. Such initiatives, he emphasised, would foster camaraderie, share best practices and inspire younger students to aspire toward disciplined and excellence-driven education.

  • Additionally, Jamir advocated educational tours for the school’s cadets to prestigious institutions like the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Indian Military Academy (IMA) to enable them to gain first hand exposure to military training and leadership pathways.

  • To address the connectivity challenges, the MP has proposed to install a BSNL tower near the school premises. The initiative was aimed at bolstering digital infrastructure by ensuring seamless communication and access to online educational resources for students and staff.

  • Jamir also engaged with cadets during a refreshment break and encouraged them to pursue academic with vigour, physical fitness and ethical values. He reiterated his commitment to supporting Sainik School, Punglwa’s mission to nurture future leaders and defenders of the nation.

  • Meanwhile, the school administration has expressed gratitude to Jamir for his proactive guidance and assured concerted efforts to implement the proposed initiatives. The meeting concluded with a resolve to further strengthen the institution’s legacy of excellence.
