Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): Jalukie Zangdi under Jalukie Block has got a new sub-centre, a much-needed medical facility in the area which will also cater to the people of several villages like Beisumpuikam, Jalukiekam, Lipenphai, Mhaikam, and Jalukie Sangtam.
An update from office of the chief medical officer, Peren, informed that the healthcare facility was inaugurated by the Dr. Denis Hangsing, chief medical officer, Peren on September 16. The inauguration function was chaired by Reiletso Chirhah, chairman VHC.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Hangsing congratulated the staff and the people involved in successfully setting up the health unit. He encouraged and challenged everyone to work hard and to support each other in order to achieve the target besides providing best service to the people.
He asked the public to utilise all the facility available in the sub-centre and make use of the VHND platform and Nagaland Health Project. He also reminded the gathering that while government provides basic medical needs, the public too should take ownership of the health unit as their own.
Dr. Hangsing went on to thank the principal director, mission director, NHM and project director, NHP Health and Family Welfare for their initiative in setting up the sub-centre.
Delivering the welcome address, Bedusai Thulu-o, village council chairman of Jalukie Zangdi village, expressed his gratitude to the medical department for its support and assured cooperation in assisting the sub-centre in every possible way. He added that the village council has started sponsoring remuneration needs of the local Chowkidar for the sub-centre.
Village health and nutrition day cum Poshan Maah was observed at Jalukie Zangdi after the inaugural programme of the healthcare facility.
