DIMAPUR — Jalukie Namgo Baptist Nqwa on Wednesday celebrated its platinum jubilee on the theme “From me thy fruit is found” in the presence of Rev. Elungkiebe Zeliang from the Academy of Integrated Christian Studies, Aizawl.

Speaking on the occasion, Elungkiebe praised the contributions of pastor Zieluiheing, who played a pivotal role in introducing Christianity to the people of Jalukie in 1949, according to an update.

Reflecting on the journey of the community, he highlighted the transformative power of Christianity, emphasising, “We are celebrating the fruits that our forefathers have strived for in Christianity and thereby relinquishing the practices they once followed.”

He commended them for fostering an inclusive environment in Jalukie and expressed gratitude to the people for embracing individuals from various races and ethnic backgrounds, allowing a diverse population to thrive.

Calling for continued unity for the glory of God, Elungkiebe encouraged the gathering to be thankful for the faithfulness and blessings bestowed upon them and stressed the need for collective efforts to achieve greater heights.

“A divided house does not stand,” he added, underscoring the importance of unity in the pursuit of spiritual and communal goals.

Rev. Ngimrai and Dr. Rampaukopoing Michui unveiled the jubilee monolith and souvenir, respectively, at the event.

The programme was chaired by Hanggau N Hau, convenor of the platinum jubilee committee, and songs were performed by members of Lekie Baptist Church, Mipui Jalukie Namgo, Lamhai Dungki Baptist Church, and the jubilee choir.
