JAKHAMA — The 7th triennial general session of Jakhama Union Kohima (JUK) concluded on Friday with a picnic at Jakhama local ground.

Speaking at the event, Kolul Khieya, president of Jakhama Union Kuda, lauded JUK and described the members as the ‘cream of the society—educated, prosperous and capable.’ He urged the members to maintain high standards of work in their respective places.

Independent MLA of 14th Southern Angami Assembly Constituency, Kevipodi Sophie, commended the gathering organised by JUK and suggested that such events should be organised more frequently.

Sophie stressed the importance of mutual support and advocated collective effort especially during elections to ensure progress and unity.

Medothül Richa, JUK general secretary, presented the secretary’s report and announced appointment of new JUK executive team for the next three years.

The event featured choral presentations led by Medonol Rolnu and Neikhoto Viswentso, Zaküsato Khazo and Kevitso-o Tetso and a duet by Ame Khieya and Viphrezol Tase.

Toba Khatso, JUK president, led the programme, while Khotuo Richa, associate pastor of Khedi Baptist Church, invoked God’s blessings.

The audit report was presented by the audit committee, which was followed with a vote of thanks delivered by Visoho Zao, JUK treasurer, and concluded with a benediction said by Avi Zao, pastor of Faith Harvest Church.
