Jacob Zhimomi urges youth to develop ‘dignity of labour’
DIMAPUR — Jacob Zhimomi, Minister of PHED and Cooperation, on Monday, encouraged the youth to develop ‘dignity of labour’ and never be ashamed to do any kind of work.
He was addressing the felicitation programme for successful candidates of the NPSC (Nagaland Public Service Commission), NSSB (Nagaland Staff Selection Board), and departmental examinations held at Chekiye village, Chümoukedima.
The felicitation programme was organised by the Western Sümi Students Union (WSSU) for successful candidates from Western Sumi areas affiliated with WSSU.
While congratulating the candidates, he encouraged them to work with integrity for the people and reminded them that success comes to those who work hard.
He emphasised that the period from 20 to 27 years is very important, and the youth at this age should not go astray, spoiling their youthful days, but rather prepare for their futures, as this is the best time to seize opportunities.
He encouraged those who could not pass the exams this time by saying that it is never too late and that the door is always open for those who work hard. He asked them to make the most of their time.
Stating that parents play an important role in shaping their children’s careers, he said that they should guide their children properly with wisdom and prayers and added that the state government is focusing on the youth.
He encouraged the youths to seize opportunities that come their way and advised the gathering to live a humble life that is in harmony with the society in which they live.
There were a total of 28 successful candidates from WSSU.
