Jacob Zhimomi inspects new Cooperation directorate building

DIMAPUR — Minister of Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi, on Thursday inspected the ongoing construction of the new directorate building of Cooperation department at Pheregei in Meriema, Kohima.

An update from the Cooperation department stated that Jacob Zhimomi reviewed the progress of the ongoing work, which is nearing completion. He also directed the NPWD engineers to actively supervise the construction by giving personal attention.

After the inspection, the minister took stock of the various issues and directed the concerned agencies and the contraction firm M/s Vilelie Khamo to complete the construction and to plan for inauguration within November 2023 itself as the project has been delayed considerably.

The report also stated that the minister was apprised of the outstanding liabilities of INR 872 lakh, which need to be cleared to complete the building. It mentioned that the construction began in 2012.

The minister was accompanied by Cooperation department officials, NPWD engineers and contractors.
