DIMAPUR — The Minister of PHED and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi, inaugurated the Pimla village gate on Saturday in the presence of dignitaries, village leaders, and citizens.
According to a press release, the minister stated on the occasion that the village was founded on May 26, 1954, and has come a long way since then. He also paid tribute to the village’s pioneers, who dreamed of a vibrant future for the village.
Jacob prayed that the village gate bring continued good fortune to Pimla village and all its inhabitants, mentioning that village gates in any Naga village symbolise unity, strength, and harmonious coexistence and that they are an integral part of the broader Naga identity. He also emphasised unity to achieve progress and lasting change in his speech.
Lauding the past and present village leaders for their commitment towards preserving the identity of the village, he called upon everyone to know God, without whose blessings they could never move forward.
He maintained that while the state government stands ready to extend assistance of any kind for the development of villages, there should be judicious utilisation of funds.
