DIMAPUR — The Political Science department and Health Club of ICFAI University Nagaland (IUN), in collaboration with the IQA Cell, organised a talk on “Fostering mental health” on Wednesday.
An update from the university stated that the resource person, Dr. Tiamongla, who is a Scientist C at Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), 5 Air Force Selection Board, Guwahati, Assam, emphasised on the mental health, stress, anxiety and depression, generational gap and coping with it by both faculty and students.
Dr Tiamongla also enlightened on the Gen Z’s expectations of life and how new form of anxiety and depression bring distress in their life. Some of the coping strategies included releasing pent up emotions, distracting oneself, ventilating one’s feeling through journaling, developing critical thinking, information or support seeking through counseling or spiritual coping and having a positive outlook.
The programme was enthusiastically attended by both faculty and students of the university.
