Israeli army, Palestinian militants exchange fire on Gaza border

GAZA/JERUSALEM — Fire is being exchanged between the Israeli army and Palestinian militants on the Gaza Strip border as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announces an expanded ground assault into the enclave, the media reported.

Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said on Friday in a statement that “we are confronting an Israeli ground incursion into Beit Hanoun and east of Bureij, and violent clashes are taking place on the ground”.

Bureij lies in the central part of the Gaza Strip, whereas Beit Hanoun is in the northwest of the Palestinian enclave, Xinhua news agency reported.

The IDF spokesperson confirmed to Xinhua news agency that “following the activities which were carried out over the last few days, (IDF) ground forces are extending their ground activities this evening”.

In Gaza, eyewitnesses told Xinhua that heavy Israeli bombardment has been ongoing, while local media reported Palestinian militants fired barrage of rockets targeting Israeli tanks deployed along the border.

Hamas aerial operation chief killed: Israel Defence Forces

TEL AVIV — The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) and its intelligence agency Shin Bet on Saturday announced that aerial operations head of terror outfit Hamas has been killed.

Hamas aerial operations chief Abu Rukbeh was responsible for the terror outfit’s drone operations, aerial detection systems and hand gliders, the IDF and Shin Bet said in a joint statement.

The statement further said that the slain Hamas leader was responsible for guiding and execution of the aerial operations of October 7 that led to hordes of Hamas terrorists reaching Israel soil and executing the killings.

Major General (Rtd) Yair Ravid of the Israel Spy agency Mossad had told IANS in an exclusive interview that the Israeli forces would hunt down all those responsible for the planning and execution of the October 7 terror attack in Israeli soil.

Abu Rubekh is considered as a top leader of Hamas military operations and the IDF seems to be focusing on killing the Hamas leadership responsible for the October 7 attacks.

150 underground Hamas sites struck in air operations: IDF

TEL AVIV — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Saturday said that it has destroyed 150 underground tunnel structures of Hamas.

The IDF in a statement said its tanks are inside Gaza Strip since Friday night.

IANS had on Friday night quoting IDF sources said that the IDF has commenced its ground invasion in Gaza.

IDF also said that its infantry, combat forces and tank units are in Gaza and have engaged fight with Hamas terrorists killing many of them. The military also said that there were no casualties on its side in the fight.

Since Friday night, internet and cell phone communications are snapped in Gaza after Israel aerial strikes.

Arabian media have reported that situation inside Gaza is scary.
