Imphal, June 12 (EMN): After the Ukhrul and Senapati districts, the state Information of Public Relations (IPR) begins the seven days basic course in news reporting for Churachandpur district on Monday at its district headquarters. IPR Director Meghachandra Kongbam inaugurated the course at Lamka Press Club, Churachandpur 65 km south of Imphal. Speaking on the occasion, Director Kongbam said that in this communication age, media’s role is very important and up-todate information on the developmental works taken up by the government should be made available to the general public particularly those residing in rural and hill areas. In his speech, President, Manipur Hills Journalist Union (MHJU) Sothing Shimray appreciated the IPR department for organising such kind of training in the hill districts of Manipur. This is very fortunate for us and we must try to learn something about journalism. IPR has been providing opportunity for the hill people in the field of journalism.
