DIMAPUR — A regional investor awareness seminar was held on Tuesday at the deputy commissioner conference hall in Mon, organised by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in collaboration with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Investor Protection Fund (IPF).
According to a DIPR report, the seminar was held to protect the interests of investors in securities, promote development, and regulate the securities market. The main objectives of the awareness programme were to reach out to citizens from all walks of life and create awareness about savings and investments.
The project was conceived to educate prospective rural investors so that individuals could understand the benefits of savings, investments, and capital formation. Through the programme, citizens were educated about protecting their hard-earned money and creating wealth through smart investing.
The assistant general manager of the SEBI eastern regional office, Joy Agarwal, was the speaker at the seminar. Anil Kumar Thakur from BSE IPF, Ajit Kumar Verma, deputy commissioner of Mon, Rongsenmenla, SDO (civil), and Shiluwapang Longkumer, superintendent of police of Mon, also attended the programme.
